Apple Tart

The one thing about apple picking in the Hudson Valley is that you inevitably depart with a bag of apples too large to possibly finish. U-pick apples generates a whole list of off things to do -- new baking projects designed to use up those apples.

This tart includes delicately placed apples arranged in concentric circles. They bake more evenly this way, and the edges can get just a little bit caramelized and crispy.
